A single raindrop crushes against my window, lingers for just a moment, to see what it misses: the warmth of a steady home, not just an illusion in the rain. Moments later the raindrop has to leave again, continuing to fall down, not knowing where it'll end its journey. All of it just to start all over again eventually.
The little girl stares into the rain, wishing to run out of the house - outrun the walls which seem to move with every step she takes - on her bare foot and dance like she never danced before. She wants to escape her safe cage and feel the freedom on her skin, taste it in her mouth, enjoy it, make it last.
One day she opens the window, invites the rain inside. She starts to dance to the music no-one else can hear. The raindrops will follow, settle in her hair and then continue crushing around her - yet both found what they dreamed of ever since:
Never ending freedom, which leaves nevertheless someplace to return to.
